Anastasiya Bazhenova

Born in Voronezh, Russia, Anastasiya Bazhenova began her piano studies at the age of four and gave her first solo recital at the age of seven. From 1996, she attended the prestigious Central Music College in Voronezh, where she participated in a 10-year special program for gifted children under the guidance of Natalia Mushechkova. This renowned music school is recognized as one of the top eight in Russia.

At the age of 15, Anastasiya made her debut performance with the Voronezh Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Shostakovich´s Piano Concerto No. 2. She further showcased her talent at 19, performing Prokofiev´s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the same orchestra, known for its exceptional musicianship and collaborations with renowned artists like Nikolay Lugansky and Daniil Trifonov.

In 2007, Anastasiya began studying at the Voronezh Academy of Arts with Prof. Arcady Dubovik, a highly respected piano teacher in Russia. Prof. Dubovik´s expertise in piano pedagogy and technique has made his books essential resources in music colleges across the country.

Anastasiya continued her education at The Norwegian Academy of Music from 2012, studying under the guidance of Prof. Jens Harald Bratlie, one of
Norway´s most renowned pianists. She completed her master’s degree in 2014.

Throughout her career, Anastasiya has performed as a soloist with orchestras and in prestigious concert halls throughout Europe, Canada, and the United States, winning first prizes in over 20 international piano competitions and receiving numerous stipends. Notably, she won the 1st Prize at the “Citta di Pesaro” Piano Competition in Italy, the 2nd Prize at the “Pietro Argento” Piano Competition, and the San Francisco Promusic Competition. She was also awarded the 3rd Prize and the audience award at “Music Masters Interpreters” in Paris, France, for her outstanding performance of Rodion Shchedrin’s “Basso Ostinato.”

In December 2024, Anastasiya made her debut at Carnegie Hall, further solidifying her reputation as a remarkable pianist.

Anastasiya´s musical endeavors extend beyond solo performances, as she actively develops as a chamber ensemble artist. Among her collaborations are esteemed musicians, including flautists Ian Clarke and Emily Beynon. Anastasiya Bazhenova is also a permanent jury member for international piano competitions owned by "Pulsar Music" in Toronto, Canada.
